About

The Partington Players
The Partington Players – Glossop’s own live theatre. Established in 1954 as Glossop Repertory Company, and in 1957 moving to the present address – the former Liberal Club, skilfully converted into a charming and intimate venue of 120 seats.
We present a week-long run of 6 plays each season. Over the years we have presented a vast range of plays embracing a great variety of theatrical styles; comedy, farce, tragedy, classical, modern and avant-garde. In many cases we have presented amateur premieres of recently released modern plays such as Lee Hall’s version of ‘A Servant to Two Masters’ and Martin McDonagh’s ‘The Beauty Queen of Leenane’. We are currently playing to capacity audiences and receiving critical acclaim – some of our players going on to work in the professional sphere.
